Council has approved a review of the our bye-laws – the rules that govern much of how we operate. The current bye-laws are over 20 years old and much has changed during that period. The review aims to ensure that the Society’s key instrument of governance reflects modern organisational standards.

SOCIETY/ President's Day: AGM, Society Awards & Wollaston Medallist lecture - 8 June 2022

Join us on 8 June for our virtual President’s Day 2022, incorporating the AGM, Society Awards and the Wollaston Medallist lecture.

We begin with the AGM from 11:00 – 12:30 BST, including reporting from Officers, approval of the annual accounts and election of candidates to Council. Register here by 6 June to receive meeting papers.

Following on is the Society Awards ceremony from 16:00-17:15 BST . Register here.

The day ends with the Wollaston Medallist lecture (17:30 -18:30), presented by our 2022 winner Prof Tanya Atwater, best known for creating the first magnetic isochron map of the northeast Pacific Ocean. Register here.
